Truck-Mounted Runway Rubber Removal Unit
The Werner Lateral Runway Rubber Removal System brings ultra-high-pressure cleaning, computer-controlled head positioning and immediate debris recovery into one road-going unit. Designed and manufactured in South Africa, it removes rubber deposits and paint markings, cleans aprons and works around airfield ground lighting with tightly managed surface impact - delivering disciplined, measurable performance for airports, military bases and industrial airfields worldwide.

Runway maintenance leaves no room for blunt-force cleaning. Werner combines a triplex ultra-high-pressure pump, CNC-controlled twin rotary heads and a high-efficiency vacuum recovery system to target deposits while actively protecting the underlying pavement.
Control from the cab
The front-mounted removal robot gives the driver a clear view of the work and remains in place for road transport. Working width adjusts from 100 to 2,200 mm by touchscreen, while rubber and paint modes, pressure, head deployment and auxiliary-engine monitoring are controlled from the cab. Setup and evacuation each take approximately one minute.
Surface protection built into the system
Motion monitoring disengages the high-pressure system if vehicle speed drops below a safe threshold. Dual filtration at 10 micron and 1 micron protects the high-pressure circuit, while automated shutdowns monitor engine temperature, oil pressure, inlet water, hydraulics, debris level and pump oil.
Clean, recover and move on
An 8,000 L baffled 304 stainless-steel clean-water tank supports the Werner KD724 pump, while the 10,000 L stainless-steel debris tank tips to 49 degrees for discharge. Built in South Africa for exacting work under difficult conditions, the system is ready for precision airfield maintenance wherever uptime and pavement care are non-negotiable.
